In a collaboration featuring musicians of the NSO, Counterpoint’s founder/pianist Natalia Kazaryan, and Grace Street Creatives' founder Greg Burgess, this program features masterpieces by J.S. Bach transcribed for traditional and unusual instrumentations suitable for the 21st century multimedia stage of the Millennium Stage. The program includes Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 for flute quintet with harpsichord, Chaconne in D minor transcribed for piano by F. Busoni, Air on the G String for string quartet, and works performed on electronic keyboards, in a nod to Wendy Carlos’ groundbreaking recording “Switched On Bach.”
For all Millennium Stage performances, a limited number of advance reservations are available on a first come, first served basis. Advance reservations do not guarantee a seat, and patrons are encouraged to arrive early.
