Program

The master of the blockbuster, director Steven Spielberg (Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind), applies his big screen magic to Jurassic Park. This adaptation of Michael Crichton’s bestseller finds paleontologists Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), along with mathematician Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), as part of a select group chosen to tour the titular island-based theme park populated by genetically engineered dinosaurs. The park’s mastermind, billionaire John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), assures everyone that the facility is safe. But everyone finds out otherwise when ferocious apex predators—a menacing T-Rex and lethal velociraptors—break free and go on the hunt. This well-orchestrated thriller took practical and computer-generated FX to the next level in 1993 and spurned two sequels as well as the Jurassic World reboot.

Films are screened with open captions, unless otherwise stated. For questions about accessibility or to request an accommodation, please contact the Accessibility Office at (202) 416-8727 or [email protected]
