Mãri hi – The Tree of Dream is directed by Morzaniel Æ—ramari with the participation of the great leader and shaman Davi Kopenawa, who leads us in this experience by presenting the knowledge of the Yanomami about dreams. This is the third film directed by Morzaniel, a well-established Yanomami filmmaker.
The film is part of the most recent film production by the Yanomami, comprising two other short films, Yuri u xëatima thë - The Fishing with Timbó and Thuë pihi kuuwi - A Woman Thinking, both directed by Aida Harika, Roseane Yariana, and Edmar Tokorino. Morzaniel Æ—ramari and the young directors live in the Demini region, in the Yanomami Indigenous Land (TIY), located between the states of Roraima and Amazonas.
The films inaugurate the new audiovisual production of the Yanomami, produced by young people who are part of a group formed in 2018 by Hutukara to become communicators and disseminate the work of the association among the Yanomami, as well as to other Indigenous communities and non-Indigenous people.
