SoulWork Studio Summer Workshop:
Blue Magic Movement Memories

Journey down-down baby, down memory lane as we dive into the cultural traditions of Black girl playground games. We invite performers and of all kinds and community members of all ages, genders, ethnicities to bring your daughters, mothers, grandmothers to share the games you know. Be prepared to move to the rhythm, stomp with the beat, and lift your voice! This workshop is free.

You need to register to attend, but no tickets are required. Space is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Walk-ups may also be allowed to participate, pending space is available.

We invite performers and of all kinds and community members of all ages, genders, ethnicities to bring your daughters, mothers, grandmothers to share the games you know. Be prepared to move to the rhythm, stomp with the beat, and lift your voice! Participants should wear comfortable clothing and shoes. This workshop is FREE. 

Artist Statement

 is a comprehensive method for making performance and training artists developed by  from generations-old African American performance traditions and aesthetics. The Blue Magic Memories Workshop is led by  theatre artist, choreographer, educator, and Certified SoulWork facilitator. It will feature performers from the , an arts education school that empowers artists to engage the fullness of their identities by cultivating creative power through an inclusive, culturally responsive, socially conscious studio practice.
