With its dazzling hybrid of western ballet and Chinese culture, National Ballet of China returns to thrill audiences with its luminous fusion of traditions, telling the story of a family’s Chinese New Year celebration—set to Tchaikovsky’s treasured Nutcracker score.

Curated by interdisciplinary ritual artist Tara Aura, this Dance Sanctuaries brings together three of DC's most beloved yoga teachers for a special day of integrated mental health and wellness support. Come join dynamic yoga classes, guided meditation and a soundbath to benefit from a nervous system reset and come away with a greater sense of calm, clarity and confidence.

Dance scholars provide commentary, via wireless headsets, about the choreography, dancers, and history of the art form as National Ballet of China rehearses on stage.

KanKouran West  African Dance Company presents "Visit Africa." This class series will introduce participants to traditional West African dances from Mali, Senegal, and Guinea. Each class will provide a cultural explanation of the dance and its meaning, a careful breakdown of the movements, and the opportunity to execute the dance to live drums. 

Launched as a partnership between Mark Morris Dance Group and the Brooklyn Parkinson Group, this program offers over 400 acclaimed dance classes each week for people with Parkinson’s Disease, in more than 250 communities and 24 countries.
