Program

Let’s Party! Let’s Dance! Let’s Capture Our Beauty! This is meant to be a party, celebration to mark the conclusion of the Conflux weekend. Forged out of a quote from National Black Theatre’s founder, Dr. Barbara Ann Teer, “Learn to love yourself,” this 4-5 hour creative installation is meant to animate her teachings/legacy and be a call to action to transcend oppression. Utilizing silent disco technology, DMV DJ’s will take us on a sonic landscape of contemporary Black music (House Music, Hip Hop, R&B, and more) as it connects to the African diaspora. In addition to this we will have a professional photographer there to take stylizes self portraits free for community members to have and enjoy.
