Fabio Biondi, who has forged a reputation for “fresh, vibrant performances” (New York Times), returns to conduct Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 4. Known as the “Italian,” this vivacious symphony captures the zest and exhilaration of Italy’s sun-soaked vistas, bustling cities, and idyllic countryside.

But first, young Japanese pianist Mao Fujita performs one of the grandest of Mozart’s piano concertos: No. 25. Fujita, whose recent recordings of Mozart’s complete sonatas have gained resounding critical acclaim, has been called “a musician of tremendous versatility and taste, with a poetic sense of pulse” (The Times).
