What is the MyTix program?

MyTix is the Kennedy Center’s discount ticket program for patrons aged 18-30 (MyTix Young Professional), elementary through undergraduate students (MyTix Student Rush), active duty members of the armed forces (MyTix Military), and active duty members first responders ( MyTix First Responder).

Is MyTix an external ticketing outlet?

No. MyTix is a program run by Kennedy Center staff.

Is it free to sign up for MyTix?

Yes!

How do I sign up for MyTix?

You can sign up online here, by phone at (202) 416-8540, or in-person at the Kennedy Center Box Office.

Because patrons must be 13 or over to create an online account, students 12 and under will need to have a parent or guardian contact the Advance Sales Box Office at (202) 416-8540 for help with setting up or modifying an account or with any questions. Students under the age of 13 (and students who opt out at any age) will not receive marketing information from the Kennedy Center.

Can I sign up for more than one MyTix program?

No, you may only sign up for one of the three MyTix programs: MyTix Young Professional, MyTix Military, MyTix First Responder, or MyTix Student Rush.

How do you confirm that I meet eligibility requirements for MyTix?

If you made your first MyTix purchase online or over the phone, you will need to pick up your tickets at Will Call on the date of your performance and show your proof of eligibility:

• Young Professional members will need to present a valid ID with date of birth proving that they are between the ages of 18 and 30.
• Military members will need to present their military ID proving active duty status.
• First Responder members will need to present ID showing active duty status as a police officer, EMT or fire fighter.
• Student Rush members will need to present a valid Student ID, report card, transcript, letter from school, etc. that proves they are a full time elementary through undergraduate student for the current school year.

 

After your eligibility has been validated, you will be access your tickets. The MyTix member must be the person who picks up the tickets at the Box Office to validate eligibility.

When does my MyTix membership expire?

• Young Professional memberships expire on your 31^st birthday. 
• Military and First Responder memberships expire when your term of active duty ends.
• Student Rush memberships are only valid for the current school year and expire annually on August 31.

How many tickets am I allowed to purchase through MyTix?

For each offered production, MyTix members can purchase 2 tickets at the MyTix price. This applies to both single ticket offers and the MyTix Mix subscription.

If I purchase two tickets, does my guest also have to meet the MyTix eligibility requirements?

No, bring anyone with you!

What if my whole family wants to attend the same performance, but I am a MyTix member?

You may purchase two tickets at the MyTix price. When selecting your MyTix seats you are also able to select regular price seats to purchase the total number of seats desired.

What should I do if I require accessible seating but would like to purchase MyTix tickets?

Please call Instant Charge at (202) 467-4600 and they will work to accommodate your request at the MyTix price for one or two seats, pending availability.

Can I purchase MyTix Student Rush tickets if I’m under 18?

• If you are between the ages of 13 and 18, yes! Purchase online, over the phone, and in person.
• If you are under the age of 13, tickets must be purchased by a parent or guardian over the phone by calling Instant Charge at (202) 467-4600 or in-person at the Kennedy Center Box Office.

How much do MyTix tickets cost?

• Young Professional, Military, and First Responder prices range from $15 - $39
• Student Rush prices are either $10 or $20. For MyTix Student Rush, there is a $5 increase in price 24 hours before the offered performance (buy early!).

What performances are offered through MyTix?

We do our best to offer MyTix for most of the shows that the Kennedy Center presents across all genres. MyTix availability is at the discretion of Kennedy Center staff and external artist management. We cannot guarantee MyTix tickets for all Kennedy Center performances. Check the MyTix website for updates and additions.

How will I learn about upcoming MyTix offers?

As a MyTix member, you will receive the MyTix Weekly e-newsletter each Friday that will notify you of what MyTix offers are currently available, what MyTix offers are going on sale the following week, and any upcoming MyTix or Kennedy Center special events.

MyTix members can also join the and follow on Twitter for regular updates.

What is the refund and exchange policy for MyTix?

There are no refunds or exchanges for MyTix tickets purchased. MyTix tickets cannot be transferred.

When do MyTix single tickets go on sale?

• New Young Professional, Military, and First Responder offers go on sale every Monday at 10 a.m., roughly 3 weeks before the offered performance date.
• New Student Rush offers go on sale every Monday at 10 a.m., roughly 2 weeks before the offered performance date.
• If we are able to add more seats to a sold out MyTix offer, these additional seats will be added mid-week. Notification of mid-week additions will be posted in the and on the Twitter account.
• MyTix offers are first come, first served. We are often only able to offer a limited number of seats at the MyTix price, so when they’re gone, they’re gone!

Do I get to select my own seat?

• Young Professional, Military, and First Responder members are able to choose their own seat. Online, the MyTix discount is only available for seats with the “M” symbol over them. These seats are not available to the general public to purchase at full price—MyTix members only!
• Student Rush members are not able to choose their own seats. They will be assigned the best available seat(s) within the section offered.

Because these seats are so cheap, am I going to be sitting in the back row?

No! We do our best to ensure that MyTix seats are typically in the mid or rear orchestra or first tier/balcony for every performance offered.

Is there a subscription option through MyTix?

Yes! We offer select performances throughout the season across all genres in a choose-your-own 3 to 5 performance package at MyTix prices, known as the MyTix Mix. The subscription package goes live each year late-summer for the following season and is available to all MyTix members.

The MyTix Mix is only available for purchase online, and can be accessed via the MyTix Weekly email or on the Current Offers page when logged in to your account.

Terms: MyTix Student Rush members under the age of 13 are not eligible to purchase the MyTix Mix subscription. Between 3 and 5 performances from offering must be selected to create package. Limit 2 tickets per selected performance. Limit 1 subscription package per MyTix member; additional orders will be cancelled. Must present valid ID when picking up tickets at the Kennedy Center Box Office.  

Do MyTix members receive any additional benefits?

Yes! When attending a performance with a MyTix ticket, MyTix members have access to:

• 10% Discount on food and non-alcoholic beverages
• 10% Discount in the Kennedy Center Gift Shops

MyTix members will need to present their MyTix ticket to receive the discount.
