²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵÃâ·Ñ°æapp supports under-resourced schools to attend Kennedy Center performances and events through Get on the Bus, a program supporting Title I schools.
About the Programs
Get on the Bus
In response to General Colin Powell's national campaign, the Kennedy Center developed the Get on the Bus program. This program supports Title I schools attendance at Kennedy Center Education Performances for School Groups, inclusive of tickets and transportation.
How to qualify for the program:
- The applicant school must be a Title I school
- The applicant school must be a public or charter school in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia and within a 50-mile radius of the Kennedy Center
- To indicate an interest in receiving support through the Get on the Bus program, the applicant school should visit the Kennedy Center Education Performances for School Groups page and select a performance of interest. The applicant school should register for the performance, indicating that it is a Title I school, and provide the information requested in the application regarding support for the performance
- The team will follow up with the applicant school concerning status of their support within 3 weeks of the application submission
Applications are accepted from eligible schools until funding is exhausted. The earlier a school completes the application form, the greater the likelihood of receiving funding for its requested performance.
