Arts Across America

In collaboration with artists from coast to coast, this series presents free, online programming available on , YouTube, and right here on our website below.

A Social Impact Program

Arts Across America is a free online series that focuses on Cultural Leadership and art as a catalyst for public healing, decolonization, and genuine global change. We explore artistic contributions from the Black Trans theater community, learn about Sacrifice Zones and the environment, fight for women’s rights in the Latinx community, discuss the prison and detention center system, and hear about the importance of Indigenous food and health—plus much more.

Hosted by sage artistic minds including singer and emcee Maimouna Youssef, best-selling author Jason Reynolds,  playwright, actor, and model Sejahari Saulter-Villegas, and award-winning poet Jasmine Mans, these performances and conversations strive to bring audiences together to heal our country, communities, and selves

Quote from Gina Belafonte about 2021

“We're excited about working with the Kennedy Center to bring both emerging and world-renowned artists to the people. My mentor has always said artists are the gatekeepers of truth. We are civilizations' radical voice.”

Gina Belafonte, Executive Director of Sankofa.org (founded by Harry Belafonte)
