Internships
²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵÃâ·Ñ°æapp Internship Program is a holistic and rigorous professional development program designed to elevate the next generation of leaders in the arts, cultural, and non-profit fields. Kennedy Center Interns spend a significant amount of their time at the Kennedy Center in individual placements gaining valuable work experience and technical skills in their chosen field. Additionally, Kennedy Center interns participate in the various components of the Kennedy Center Internships curriculum to increase leadership potential and fluency in the non-profit and cultural sectors.
About the Program
Throughout this program, interns will:
- Participate in seminars with senior staff members on a variety of arts administration topics.
- Attend cross-departmental meetings to understand the workings of a matrix organization.
- Conduct informational interviews with staff members in any of our 13 departments.
- Creatively collaborate with fellow interns on capstone project
- Work alongside innovative arts leaders to achieve their own professional career goals.
This is a paid internship program ($17.50 per hour) based in Washington, D.C.
Eligibility
Applicants must be a rising sophomore, junior, or senior enrolled in an accredited undergraduate degree program. Newly graduated seniors, up to 6 months post undergraduate, who are not actively enrolled in a graduate/master’s program are also eligible to apply!
International applicants are encouraged to apply. However, the Kennedy Center does not sponsor visas, and thus applicants will be required to provide proof of visa at time of application.

Summer 2025 Term
The Summer 2025 term will be open to candidates who can reliably commute to the Kennedy Center at least twice a week (Interns may be required to work onsite more depending upon internship placement).
The Summer Internship Application will open Monday December 2nd 2025, and close Monday January 13th, at 11:59 PM EST.
Term Dates: Monday, June 2nd – Friday, August 8th, 2025
