Steven Wilson, originally from Dodge City, Kansas, joined the National Symphony in 2001 after three seasons as principal bassoonist in the Virginia Symphony. Previously, he served as second bassoonist in the Tulsa Philharmonic and the Abilene Philharmonic. He has participated in the Round Top, Chautauqua, and Colorado Music Festivals. He studied at the University of Texas at Austin with Kristin Wolfe Jensen.
