Nolan Williams Jr.

Nolan Williams, Jr. is best described as a creative force. An artistic producer, American composer, music director and cultural curator, the multi-hyphenate Williams uses his art to commemorate, educate and uplift. His body of work includes choral/orchestral works premiered by major American orchestras; music for television; songwriting credits on two Grammy-nominated projects; arts and educational festivals produced  in partnership with ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵÃâ·Ñ°æapp and Philadelphia's Mann Center; cultural programming developed with the Smithsonian, U.S. State Department, and the Embassies of India, France and South Africa; documentary projects; and a slate of theatrical productions, including a new musical, , set to premiere at the historic Ford's Theatre (Spring 2022).

Concerning his music, The Philadelphia Inquirer asserts, "Williams has a musical language all his own. It brims with vernacular American optimism..."

In recognition of his broader artistic work and impact, he was presented ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵÃâ·Ñ°æapp's National Performing Arts Committee's 2019 Arts Advocacy Award and was also named one of the Center's inaugural Social Practice Residents (same year).
