Jeffrey Weisner joined the National Symphony Orchestra bass section in 1995. He is active in venues around the region and the country as a performer and teacher. He received his undergraduate degree in music from Boston University and his Master of Music degree from the Peabody Conservatory, where he studied with former NSO Principal Bass Harold Robinson. From 1991 to 1993, Weisner was a member of the New World Symphony in Miami, and from 1993 to 1995 he was a member of the Delaware Symphony. From 2005 to 2017, he was on the double bass faculty of the Peabody Conservatory.

Weisner has appeared as a soloist with the Crossroads Chamber Orchestra, the Eclipse Chamber Orchestra, and the Annapolis Chamber Orchestra. As an educator, he has presented master classes at venues including San Francisco Conservatory, the Interlochen Arts Academy, and the Colburn School of Music. He is dedicated to creating and supporting new music; his solo album Neomonology, released in 2012 on the Innova record label, features three works commissioned and premiered by him. He has appeared as a chamber musician in a variety of NSO-sponsored chamber series as well as at the Corcoran Gallery and the Austrian Embassy. Weisner performs on two basses: an Italian bass of unknown origin (the Ex-Thompson bass) and a bass by Xavier Jacquet ca. 1900.
