Luke Steven Soneral

Luke Steven Soneral (b. 2008) is a tenth-grade student at Minnetonka High School in Minnesota. In addition to his compositional studies at Juilliard, Luke plays piano and double bass with the Symphony Orchestra of the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies. His compositions have received national recognition as a 2022 small ensemble winner of the National Young Composer’s Challenge and the 2022 Minnesota Sinfonia Young Composer’s Competition. In addition, his work Muggle’s March was performed by the Minnesota Orchestra in the 2024 Young People’s Concert, a piece that will also be performed by the Northern Symphony Orchestra this year. A 2022–2023 summer composition student at Interlochen Center for the Arts, Luke composed and performed various chamber pieces, including a choral work read by the Interlochen choir. Outside of the arts, Luke enjoys playing basketball, tossing the football, reading, playing Scrabble, and spending time with friends and family.
