Winona Martin mezzo soprano

Winona Martin is an award-winning, multi-faceted mezzo-soprano from Dallas, Texas, who loves to boot-stomp and cycle in her free time. This coming 2024/2025 season, she returns to the Washington National Opera mainstage in the role of Laurene Powell Jobs in The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs. She will also participate in this year's AOI 20 program as Maude in Mud Girl. She joined Washington National Opera as a member of the Cafritz Young Artist Program in the 2023/2024 season, where she notably made her mainstage and role debut as Stéphano in Romèo et Juliette, and appeared as Mary in The Lion, The Unicorn, and Me, and Rosmira in Partenope. She is the 1st Prize Winner of the 35th Annual Annapolis Opera Vocal Competition, and returns for their Voices of Our Time recital series in 2024. She can be seen as Linfea and Il Destino in La Calisto at The Glimmerglass Festival in Summer 2024. Winona is a Regional Encouragement Award Winner and multi-year Regional Finalist in The Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition.
