Pei-Hsuan Lin pianist/coach
Taiwanese pianist Pei-Hsuan Lin has performed internationally as both a solo pianist and a collaborative pianist. She rejoins The Cafritz Young Artist of Washington National Opera for a second season. This season, she can be seen as assistant conductor for Jungle Book and The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs. The past season, she worked on Roméo et Juliette, American Opera Initiative, and Partenope. Lin was an apprentice coach at Merola Opera Program at San Francisco Opera where she was a pianist and coach for Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia. She is an alumna of Renée Fleming’s SongStudio, Aspen Music Festival, Fall Island Vocal Arts Seminar. Her other summer engagements have included The Collaborative Piano Institute and Domaine Forget International Music Festival. As a passionate recitalist, she has performed at Weill Recital Hall and Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, Field Concert Hall, Françoys-Bernier Concert Hall, Harris Concert Hall, Wheeler Opera House, and Duomo di Todi. During her time at the Peabody Institute she served as a rehearsal pianist for productions of Pride and Prejudice, The Hiding Tree, La rondine, and Così fan tutte. She is the recipient of the 2018 Clara Ascherfeld Award and the 2021 Sarah Stulman Zierler Prize in Accompanying from Peabody. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Collaborative Piano at the University of Maryland, where she served as a rehearsal pianist for production of Die Zauberflöte, Later the Same Evening, La bohème, Proving Up, and Don Giovanni.
