Anneliese Klentsky soprano
Soprano Anneliese Klenetsky is elated to join the Cafritz Young Artists of Washington National Opera for her first season. This season she will perform as Lady-in-Waiting in Macbeth and Chrisann Brennan in the young-artist performance of The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs. She will also participate in this year's AOI 20 program as Connie in Tati. Recently, she performed the role of Female Chorus in Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia and the title role in Handel’s Alcina with Yale Opera. She was also honored to be a district winner of The Metropolitan Opera’s Laffont Competition, as well as a finalist in the Butler International Competition. Previous roles include Governess in Britten’s Turn of the Screw, Clori in Handel’s Clori, Tirsi e Fileno under Paul Agnew, La Bergère in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges under Emmanuel Villaume and the leading role of Ada in the West Coast premier of Jennifer Higdon’s Cold Mountain at Music Academy of the West. Ms. Klenetsky was a participant of Renée Fleming’s Songstudio at Carnegie Hall, as well as a Ravinia Stean’s Fellow for the past 3 seasons, and is delighted to be joining Santa Fe Opera as an Apprentice artist this summer covering the roles of Violetta in Verdi’s La traviata and Dressmaker in Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier.
