Nicholas Huff tenor
Tenor Nicholas Huff has been hailed for his "Vocal and dramatic fearlessness” (Voix des arts) in leading roles across the country and joins the Cafritz Young Artists for his first season at WNO. This season, he will perform as Malcolm in Macbeth and Steve (Woz) Wozniak inthe YA production of The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs. He will also participate in this year's AOI 20 program as Zach in Wolves. Highlights include Don Ottavio in Mozart’s Don Giovanni with the Florida Grand Opera, Peter Quint, in Turn of The Screw, creating the role of Fabian Hart in Jake Heggie's 2019 magical-realism opera, If I Were You, at Merola Opera, Mitch in Florida Grand Opera’s new production of A Streetcar Named Desire, Tamino in Opera Fort Collins’ production of Die Zauberflöte; and Nemorino in Miami Lyric Opera’s production of L’elisir d’amore. In addition to the Britten and Heggie, Huff has performed other modern works such as Joseph Treat in Victoria Bond's Mrs. President, and created the role of Niño Polilla in the world and international premieres of No se culpe a nadie. Nicholas was also part of the definitive, Grammy-nominated production recording of Carlisle Floyd's final opera, Prince of Players. Most recently, Mr. Huff could be heard in Don Giovanni at Winter Opera St. Louis as Don Ottavio, and Sarasota Opera’s Lucia di Lamermoor as Arturo. The 2023-24 season will end with his Symphony debut in The Dream of Gerontius in Milwaukee as well as Nicholas' role debut as Rodolfo in the beloved Puccini classic, La bohème in San Francisco.
