Kennedy Center Next 50 Arts Leader, Fly Zyah came to The REACH for a week-long residency. During her residency, the then 11-year-old DC-based rapper workshopped a Hip Hop theatre production with other youth creatives. With some of the kids meeting for the first time in person, they took inspiration from Zyah’s song “Legendary” and the inspiration from the “legends” they see in their lives to discover how they can become legends to others and for themselves. Guided and directed by Malcolm Xavier Whitfield, the kids worked together bringing their individual talents to the table.
