If there is one thing trans people know well, it is transition. Times are changing, and with these changes come increased visibility and social consciousness about the livelihoods of Trans Women of Color. From the Gay Rights Movement to Ballroom to Hollywood, Trans WoC in the arts have continuously blazed trails in a society that has neglected, vilified, and destroyed them for merely existing. With Trans WoC artists reaching more audiences than ever before—and fatal violence still disproportionately affecting Black and Latinx Trans Women—we now arrive at a moment of reckoning: how do we heal from here?
