Yiqi Xue Composer
Yiqi Xue is a composer whose musical language is driven by the concepts of soundscapes and conversation. Her works often feature dialogues between and within different instruments and mediums, exploring impulses through intricate soundscapes. As a lover of words and painting, Yiqi draws much of her inspiration from philosophy, poetry, literature, Chinese calligraphy, and painting. She is currently pursuing her M.M. degree at The Juilliard School, studying under composer Melinda Wagner. Yiqi earned her B.M. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where she studied with Chen Yi, Zhou Long, Paul Rudy, and Yotam Haber. She is also a recipient of the 2023 ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Awards.
