Garik Israelian
Dr. Israelian, an Astrophysicist at the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands, is the creative director of the STARMUS Festival. In 1999, he led a team that provided the first observational evidence linking supernova explosions to black hole formation. His research, published in top journals like Nature, covers extrasolar planets, massive stars, and black hole binaries.
A frequent speaker at conferences, including TED Global, he received the 2010 Ambartsumian Prize for his work on extrasolar planets and their parent stars.
