Carole Tafoya Evans

Violinist Carole Tafoya Evans has been a member of the National Symphony Orchestra since 2001. She is also a member and has since performed as a soloist with the Eclipse Chamber Orchestra.

An active chamber music performer, she has been a member of the Fessenden Ensemble since 2000. In Washington, D.C., she has also appeared on the Chamber Music Series at the Holocaust Memorial Museum and the Tuesday Concert Series at the Church of the Epiphany.

She is a founding member of the Potomac Trio with pianist Cecilia Cho and her husband, NSO cellist Mark Evans. The ensemble was awarded a grant from the D.C. Council on the Arts and Humanities/NEA and has appeared at Georgetown University and Monday Musicales.

An avid teacher, Ms. Evans maintains a private teaching studio and is a frequent coach and teacher for the NSO Summer Music Institute and Fellowship Programs. She previously served on the faculty of Indiana-Purdue University.

Ms. Evans holds both Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from Indiana University School of Music, where she held a graduate teaching assistantship. Her teachers included Josef Gingold and Yuval Yaron.
