Isha Clarke is an eclectic vessel. Their mission is to become anew with, for and as the essence of the traditions they were gifted. For 9 years, Isha trained in House, Hip-hop and various other styles of street and club dances. Inspired by this and by the framework of modern dance introduced by their grandmother, as well as the spiritual practice of jazz by their father, Isha has developed a unique style honoring the knowing of African diasporic tradition and informed by the sensibilities undergirding modern movement. Isha uses their art as a liberatory praxis — extending their history with community organizing as a teenager growing up in Oakland, CA.

Isha is now based in New York City where they are a performer, creative director, DJ, dance educator, Change Impact Restorative Justice Fellow, writer, and with all their love and heart a student of the world.
